Travelling Film Festival Dubbo

Arts, Entertainment, Nightlife, Dubbo, NSW, Australia

The Travelling Film Festival (TFF) is returning to Dubbo bringing six wonderfully diverse feature films and three new Aussie short films to Reading Cinemas

THE BEST ON SCREEN COMES TO DUBBO!

TRAVELLING FILM FESTIVAL @ READING CINEMAS 21-23 MARCH 2014

The TFF in Dubbo opens with Australian feature The Darkside from celebrated Australian director Warwick Thornton (Samson & Delilah). The Darkside portrays a series of ghost stories with a difference. The film takes an alternative approach to the archetypal ghost, instead of the usual ‘things that go bump in the night’; it shines a light on the importance of family histories, kinship and ancestors. The honest, fascinating first-hand accounts are brought to life on film by some of Australia’s finest performers including Claudia Karvan, Aaron Pedersen, Bryan Brown, Jack Charles and Deborah Mailman. The screening will be followed by our always-popular party with complimentary drinks and snacks!

Other impressive TFF Dubbo titles include: The Great Beauty; winner of Best Foreign Language Film at this year’s Golden Globes and nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar®; My Sweet Pepper Land; the latest work from legend of Kurdish cinema, director Hiner Saleem, and selected for Uncertain Regard at Cannes Film Festival; and Closed Circuit, a suspenseful and chilling thriller starring Eric Bana, Rebecca Hall and Jim Broadbent.

The festival will also be screening the charming Gloria; winner of Best Actress at the Berlin Film Festival for a bravura performance of an older woman falling in love. The festival closes with The Past, Asghar Farhadi's much-anticipated follow-up to his Oscar® winning film A Separation; an authentic and riveting family melodrama.
